Holy Wars have dropped a haunting live in studio cover of the iconic track "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails.
Speaking on the cover, Holy Wars vocalist Kat Leon Shares:
"I wanted to cover this song because it has always been one of my favorite Nine Inch Nails songs, but after the loss of my parents and now my sister, it has taken on an entirely new meaning for me. I’m deeply aware of the original version and its intent, but the beauty of songwriting is that a song is born from an artist’s own story and pain and once it’s released into the world, it becomes something shared. It transforms. It connects. Each listener carries it through their own experiences and their own grief." - Kat Leon
We debuted the song live at our recent show at Pico Union Project in Los Angeles. A short clip from that performance began to take off on TikTok, with people asking for a full version. That response was incredibly moving, so we went into the studio the following week and recorded it live."
